The plant needs such a nutrient for its growth and development, which is organic and easily mixed in the soil and does not leave any waste material. Jivaamrit is one such organic fertilizer. Which provides nutrients to the plant as per the requirement and helps in the development of the plant. Jeevamrut helps in decomposing organic residues/materials in the soil. So that the soil becomes fertile and the plant gets nutrients as per its requirement.

What is Jeevamrutham organic fertilizer

It is made up of two Sanskrit words "life" and "amrit". Jivamrit literally means nectar for life.Jivamrit is an Indian traditional food. It has been used since long time ago. Jeevamrit is made from cow dung. In which it is mixed with cow urine, jaggery, pulse flour and water and left to rot for some time. In which, due to the process of fermentation, Jeevamrit is formed.

It is considered a good source of natural carbon, biomass, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other micronutrients essential for crops.

Process of making Jeevamrutham organic fertilizer

  • Mix cow dung, cow urine, jaggery, gram flour and soil in about 3 liters of water. 
  • Add 7 liters of water to this mixture, so that the solution becomes 10 liters.
  • Jeevamrut will be ready in 2 days. 

Material required of making Jeevamrutham organic fertilizer

  • Cow urine - 1/2 kg 
  • Cow dung – 1/2 kg 
  • Water - 3 liters 
  • Jaggery – 100 grams 
  • Lentil flour / gram flour – 100 grams 
  • Garden Soil – 50 grams
