Here are the basic steps to grow roses from seeds:

Collect the seeds:

Collect rose seeds from the hips of mature rose plants. Wait until the hips have turned red or orange, indicating that the seeds are mature. Cut open the hips and remove the seeds.

Stratify the seeds:

Most rose seeds need to go through a period of cold stratification before they will germinate. To stratify the seeds, place them in a damp paper towel and put them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for 4-6 weeks.

Prepare the soil:

Fill a small container with a good quality potting mix. Moisten the soil but do not make it too wet.

Plant the seeds:

After the stratification period, remove the seeds from the refrigerator and plant them about 1/4 inch deep in the soil. Cover with a thin layer of soil.

Water the seeds:

Water the soil lightly, being careful not to disturb the seeds.

Provide light and warmth:

Place the container in a warm, bright location but out of direct sunlight. Cover the container with plastic wrap or a clear plastic bag to create a mini greenhouse effect.

Wait for germination:

Rose seeds can take several weeks or even months to germinate. Keep the soil moist but not too wet, and be patient.

Transplant the seedlings:

Once the seedlings have developed true leaves, they can be transplanted into individual pots or into the garden. Harden off the seedlings by gradually exposing them to the outdoor environment before transplanting them outside.

Growing roses from seeds can be a fun and rewarding process, but it does take time and patience. Keep in mind that not all rose seeds will germinate, and even those that do may not produce the same characteristics as

 the parent plant.
